Ocean Storm is a captivating composition by Filipe Leitão for flute ensemble, featuring piccolo, flutes 1–6, alto flutes 1 and 2, bass flute, and contrabass flute. The piece begins with delicate, scattered notes, resembling the first drops of rain, and gradually builds into a driving rhythmic pattern that evokes the intensity of a raging storm. It features innovative special techniques, such as beatboxing and key slaps, which, combined with dissonant harmonies, create a powerful and immersive soundscape. Through these unique textures and dynamic contrasts, Ocean Storm brings the storm to life with striking energy and dramatic urgency.
